THE WEDDING OPERATION
Directed by Daniel Bărnuti
The Wedding Operation is a personal documentary film about growing up. Two young people reaching adulthood, willing to accept their responsibility to each other and to the people around them. Two people who understand that happiness is not a given, but something for which we need to fight every day of our lives.
All these themes are brought together by conflict. The conflict between generations, between lovers, the conflict with the world around and - perhaps most importantly - the conflict with our inner self. All these conflicts are documented in The Wedding Operation.
The film is in the post-production phase and is scheduled to premiere in 2023.
SYNOPSIS
Daniel, a man with a troubled past who chose to convert to Islam, marries his girlfriend Alexandra, not wanting to live in sin as defined by the Quran.
This is a film about two young people becoming adults, willing to accept their responsibility to each other and to the people around them. They understand that happiness is not a given, but something for which we need to fight every day of our lives, beginning with our inner self, on a spiritual path.
The Wedding Operation is a 90-minute documentary and has always been meant as a very personal film, not least because its directors and its characters are the same people.
